Sonnet V - The Birthday Sonnet
|
|
By Alun Tudor Jones.
|
As now the time has turned to two score years,
No more Oldcastle School nor Brynteg now,
Yet this is not a time for any tears,
Instead its time for you to take a bow.
Your memories of Swansea long since passed,
Of Eynon's currie pasties oh so rare,
And memories so sweet will always last,
Such youthful thoughts with very little care.
We join you on this day to raise a cup,
Celebrating, let's be very jolly,
To toast a special health onward let's sup,
It's Josh, Geraldine and darling Holly.
So tuck into the meal lets be nifty,
Look on to the next one when you're fifty.
