The Five Bells vs Mack the Knife
|
|
Lyrics: Jonathan Abraham and Andrew Jenkins. Music: Kurt Weil.
|
Oh the Five Bells, is our pub dear,
And we drink there, every night.
Just a Draught Bass and a Lager,
Is all it takes to get us tight.
When the barmaids, start to pump dear,
It's the time, we start to smile.
There's no hurry, to leave the Bells dear,
So we'll stay here for quite a while.
Oh there's a landlord, and he's so grumpy,
That you never, hear him laugh.
When you ask him, for a pint dear,
You'll be lucky to get a half.
Oh there are stinkers, drink in the lounge dear,
We won't let them, in the bar.
Some have tried to come and join us,
But they never, never, get very far.
We have a stop-on, Friday evenings,
Marten's told us, not to tell.
Oh! The cat's out of the bag now,
We're in trouble, Oh! F****** Hell!
There are so many, drunken people,
And they're always, falling down.
So a queue forms, at the bar dear,
At the best damn pub in town.
