It's Welfare at the Well

A special report from Lavatory correspondent, Alun Tudor Jones

Since pre-Reformation times, 'Salmon's Well' at Penllyn, near Cowbridge has provided the inhabitants of the Vale of Glamorgan with pure, crystal-clear water. Indeed, such is the importance of the Well, that in times of drought, it is the only source of water.

Gem

However, in recent weeks, the level has become dangerously low, as widely publicised in the local newspaper, 'The Gem'.

Local concern has been high, as witnessed by many Council meetings that have been held to address the problem, but to no avail.

Unselfish

Ever willing to respond to public plight, local rambler Robert Bevonius Dibble decided to make his own contribution to the worrying development.

Mr Dibble unselfishly trekked the twelve miles from Bridgend, only stopping to take refreshment at the 'Red Fox Inn', before attempting to provide his personal solution to the falling water level.

STOP PRESS

"I am a victim of misunderstanding and Closed Circuit Television," bemoaned Mr. Dibble from his cell at Bridgend Police Station.
