Three Welsh actors are battling to be the new James Bond in the forthcoming movie sequel, 'The Spy Who Thumped Me'. Ioan Gruffydd, Ian Tiberius Williams, pictured left, and Christian Bale are all in the running to take over from Pierce Brosnan. Cardiff heart throb Gruffydd is one of the favourites to become 007, but twenty-eight year old American Psycho star Bale, who hails from Pembrokeshire, is also highly-rated. Forty-one year-old Williams, best known as the inventor of the Iantoburger® and for his miraculous 1995 Kumba Crisis death cheat has never acted professionally and is the rank outsider to play the famous spy. The successful candidate will also be contracted to play Bond in the next three episodes of the long running series, 'Broken Finger', 'The Bass is not Enough' and 'From Russian Vodka with love'. The three actors were flown recently to Lanzarote where each was filmed in an identical scene from the new block buster in front of the film's producers. The announcement of the new Bond is expected from Pinewood Studios at any time. STOP PRESS |
