Local Landlady in Icy Incident A special report from our Icelandic Correspondent, Alun Tudor Jones |

|
A regular drinker at a Bridgend hostelry has been complaining for several weeks that his favourite tipple, 'Draught Bass', (always given to him in a handled glass) is being served too cold. Temperate Dewi Temperate Williams of Whiterock, Bridgend, has claimed that his beer is so cold that it is likely to cause "material damage to my body". "Given the recent wintry spell, one's insides should not be offended by beer that is being served at an abnormally low cellar temperature", he confided in an interview with The Bugle. Thermostat The landlady of the fore-mentioned hostelry, 'The Oldcastle Hotel', Nolton Street, Bridgend, in an exclusive interview, accepted that "Our cellar thermostat has been rather playing up of late, not the least helped by sub-zero outside temperatures; but I feel that Mr. Williams' concerns about his bodily health are without foundation". |

STOP PRESS Photographic evidence clearly proves that Mr. Williams was correct to be anxious about the potential ill-effects of his over-chilled Draught Bass. |
